OUR VISION: To see the Methodist Movement alive, vibrant, growing and yearning to spread the good news of Christ Jesus throughout the whole world through word, deed and sign!

THE EVANGEBELLS RING OUT THE MESSAGE..."PEACE ON EARTH!"
The kings were tired of war. They desired to stop the violence and killing of their people. As my colleague and friend, Bishop Mvume Dandala related the story to us, the kings had heard of one who brings a message of peace and healing. King Faku of AmamPondo, King Ngubengcuka of AbaThembu and King Ncaphai of AmaBhaca sent emissaries carrying ivory to Reverend William Shaw, calling him to come across the Kei River. They asked him to help overcome the tribal wars through the preaching of the Gospel. Nelson Mandela is a direct descendant of King Ngubengcuka.
So the “good news of Christ Jesus” came with the Methodist preachers in the early 19th century to the Transkei Region of the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Schools, hospitals and churches were built throughout the region. Reverend Shaw’s preachers began ringing bells all over the territory. The evangelist, the bearer of good news, was announced by the ringing of bells.
Today, the world needs to hear the message of healing, hope and salvation. We are called to seek righteousness and pursue peace. We are called to be faith-sharers of this good news for peace and salvation in the world.
On the first Sunday in Advent each year 2007-2011 the World Methodist Family across the rivers of the world will be joining in heart and mind to
PRAY FOR PEACE IN EVERY TONGUE IN THE NAME OF
THE PRINCE OF PEACE.

When the people heard the bell ringing as the evangelist entered the village they knew “good news is coming.” May the bells ring in every village on every continent with the good news of hope, healing, salvation and peace
“I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to all.
Let the EvangeBells Ring!
In the Name of the Prince of Peace
