World Methodist Evangelism Emphasis!

At the 2001 World Methodist Conference in Brighton, England, a resolution was passed which called Methodists "to prayer and fasting and to spreading the good news of JesusChrist around the world!" In response to this, the World Evangelism Division of the World Methodist Council is launching a series of activities and eventsaimed specifically at further empowering members of the Wesleyan/Methodist denominations around the world to reach out and share the love of Jesus Christ!

Built around the theme, "That the world may know Jesus Christ!" the World Methodist Evangelism Emphasis is a bold and extensive series of events, activities, resources, and programs aimed at doubling the one million persons per year growth of the worldwide Methodist Movement to two million persons per year!

"Ten Days of Faith" Celebrations
New programs aimed at aiding Wesleyan/Methodists come together to celebrate Ten Days of Faith near "our" Holy Days of Pentecost and Aldersgate every year.

"That The World May Know Jesus Christ!" Bible Study
A study of Chapters 14, 15, 16, and 17 of the Gospel According to John to be used worldwide in the first half of 2005.
Evangelism Leadership Summits
A series of Summits/Seminars conducted by the World Methodist Evangelism Institute are being held in all parts of the world to equip denominational leaders for planning and leading evangelism ministries. The first Summit -- for the Americas -- was held in Cuba in January, 2004.
Prayer and Fasting
Millions of Methodists around the world will be encouraged to participate in the Wesleyan Pattern of Prayer and Fasting.
Worldwide Evangelistic Preaching Missions
A program for holding three-day "Cornerstone Celebration" evangelistic preaching missions in thousands of Methodist/Wesleyan churches around the world.
Worldwide Faith-Sharing Leadership Workshops
Thousands of Wesleyan/Methodists are being trained to share the love of Christ Jesus in their area of the world.
International Christian Youth Conference on Evangelism
Scheduled for July 19-26, 2005 in Rio, Brazil for young leaders between the ages of 17 and 30 from all areas of the world.
Expanding the Order of the FLAME to All Continents
The program of intense evangelism training for specially selected young pastors, begun in North America, is now be expanded around the world.
