OUR VISION: To see the Methodist Movement alive, vibrant, growing and yearning to spread the good news of Christ Jesus throughout the whole world through word, deed and sign!

Baltic
Methodist
Theological Seminary

For more than two decades, from the very first visit of H. Eddie Fox in 1980, World Evangelism has had a special relationship with the Methodist Church of Estonia. By the grace of God, the Methodist movement survived "above ground" in Estonia during the years that it was part of the Soviet Union.
A continuing relationship of World Evangelism and the Methodists in Estonia expanded dramatically after the change in the political system occurred in 1991. Immediately, World Evangelism stepped forward with the development of Connecting Congregations in Estonia. Then, World Evangelism worked alongside the brothers and sisters in Estonia in helping them realize their longstanding dream of a theological seminary.
Through the World Methodist "connection," the Methodist people of Estonia developed the first Methodist Seminary in the former Soviet Union. And, today, it has the largest enrollment of any Methodist seminary in continental Europe. The fully accredited theological school is raising up leaders for the Methodist movement throughout Eastern Europe.
A graduate from the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary is serving as a missionary for the Methodist Church in Siberia, Russia! Thousands of Estonians were sent as prisoners to hard labor camps in Siberia in the 40's and 50's but, now, it is a demonstration of the grace of the Risen Lord that a Methodist Missionary is serving, by choice, to offer the good news of Christ Jesus in the area.
World Methodist Evangelism continues in the connection with the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary to train leaders for the region in the fulfillment of the great commission, to make Disciples of Christ Jesus.
