The
World Methodist
Evangelism TRUST
The ministries of World
Methodist Evangelism have grown from a small but enthusiastic beginning in
1971 to a worldwide movement. Today, World Methodist Evangelism is launching
hundreds of new congregations, training thousands of evangelism leaders, and
distributing millions of creative evangelism resources around the world. It
has become one of the primary forces behind Methodism’s worldwide growth
rate of more than one million persons per year!
As these ministries have mushroomed, the need for financial support has grown.
Therefore, the World Methodist Evangelism Trust was created at the World Methodist Council meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1996. The purpose of the Trust is to develop a permanent endowment of “funds devoted to supporting the ministry of World Evangelism of the World Methodist Council, to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world so that more and more persons will be won to Jesus Christ and live as his disciples in the kingdom of God.
Funds administered by the Trust are dedicated to the purpose of advancing the gospel of Jesus Christ through World Methodist Evangelism and are to be managed so as to provide income in perpetuity to “offer Christ” throughout the whole world.

As we enter the new millennium, World Methodism is more than 70 million people in 130 countries and growing at the rate of one million new members per year!
