In
Samoa, the Principal of Piula Theological College expressed a need for Evangelism
and Methodist Study Resources for the Theological students in the school. World
Evangelism is committed to connecting churches, districts and conferences in
the Methodist Movement in order to share with one another what each one has.
When the story of this need was shared with the Dothan, Alabama District Pastors
of the United Methodist Church, each of the pastors responded immediately by
promising to send specifically requested books for the Piula

LITERACY
TRAINING IN ASIA
World Evangelism connects local churches, districts and conferences around
the globe with very specific ministries of word, deed and sign related to
very specific needs in the world. In a visit with a church in Asia, the World
Director learned that one of the great needs in the country was literacy,
especially for women. Leaders in the church said they could develop a curriculum
that the church could use to teach women to read and write. And, as these
women learned to read they would also learn the story of God's love for them
through Christ Jesus. World Evangelism stood alongside the people and provided
prayer and financial support in the process of developing the ministry of
EvangeLit through which people
are given literacy training at the same time that the Gospel of Christ Jesus
is shared with them.

library. The response
to the need was so great that the churches subscribed duplicate books. Through
the provision of the necessary books, young leaders in Samoa are being inspired
and instructed in the ministry of evangelism. Again, the ministry of EvangeLit
is being expressed in a new way in response to a specific needs.
